description Coachland is an RV park in the High Sierras where one can truly enjoy the change of seasons all year long. Located at an elevation of 5900 feet, just outside the historic town of Truckee and just 20 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe, Coachland guests enjoy ideal temperatures and an endless array of outdoor activities. All of the roads within our park are paved and of sufficient length & width to fit your rig. All of our sites are pull thru (so pulling in and out is easy) and all sites include full hookups. Digital cable TV and BASIC Wireless Internet are provided at no additional charge. There are a number of landscaped sites available for monthly occupancy, on a first come-first serve basis, for those who enjoy doing a little gardening. We look forward to your visit!
drivingDirection Coachland is located approximatly 1/4 mile north of I-80 at the intersection of Donner Pass Road & Pioneer Trail. North Directions From Downtown Truckee: Follow Donner Pass Road east just past I-80 overpass and turn left on Pioneer Trail, then make an immediate right into Coachland. South Directions Coming South on Highway 89 North from Sierraville: Before I-80 turn right on Donner Pass Road at the round-about, then make the next right on Pioneer Trail, and an immediate right into Coachland. East Directions Driving East on I-80: Take exit #188A, make a left on Donner Pass Road, another left onto Pioneer Trail, and an immediate right into Coachland. West Directions Driving West on I-80: Take exit #188, make a right on Highway 89 North, next left on Donner Pass Road at round-about, next right on Pioneer Trail, and immediate right into Coachland. facilitiesDescription The natural beauty of the Sierra's is evident throughout the park, with many large pine trees preserved to retain the woodsy atmosphere. The spacious landscaping, picnic area/playground, dog park, and clubhouse were designed to enhance the surroundings and are provided for the added enjoyment of our guests. The 2,000 sq. ft. clubhouse is decorated in mountain style decor and is available for group parties, games, and other social events. It is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen, and is suitable for handicapped persons. There are folding tables and chairs available for group functions for up to 50 persons. Our guests may rent the clubhouse for a private party or other event for a nominal fee. Visit our new 1+ acre dog park. A separately fenced 1,000+ sq. ft. area is available for small dogs (25 lbs. or less). The larger park is a great place for your pet to be off-leash to play and exercise. The grassy park is set among the trees and adjacent to a seasonal stream. Water is available for dog bowls and clean up if "Fido" gets a little dirty. Picnic tables are available for your comfort. We also have a playground and large picnic area with a fire pit available for groups and family get togethers. There is a tetherball, horseshoe pit, and basketball court for all to enjoy. Lawn games, including croquet and bocce ball, and badmitton are available for your enjoyment. Smaller children enjoy the climbing wall, slides and swing set. All year long there are an abundance of activities in this area (see The WEEKLY and the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce ) concerts, craft fairs, festivals, and competitions of all kinds' in summer (such as Iron Man and Tough Mudder ) and winter alike. Within' just a short drive are numerous local lakes for boating, rivers, beaches, biking and hiking trails (visit Truckee Trails and Tahoe Bike for more information and to print maps), golf courses, casinos, world class resorts, fine restaurants, unique shops, and several museums including the Donner Memorial Museum (at the Donner Memorial State Park ) which features the harrowing story of the Donner Party and the other pioneering families that braved the elements and fought for their lives on their journey west. Truckee and the vicinity is an outdoor enthusiast's dream. In the winter it's the snow that brings visitors to Truckee, with several world class ski resorts just 20 minutes away including; Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl and Northstar. Or you can hop on your cross country skis and blaze your own trail out in our park's open space. Rafting on the Truckee River is a popular summer activity for both the casual relaxing floater or for the more adventurous on a white water tour with one of the local commercial outfitters who meet just outside our park. The local lakes and streams offer fabulous fishing, as many guests have discovered. Whether it is fly fishing, trolling, or shore fishing, it's all close by. Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake are famous for their Mackinaw while other waters are popular for their Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Kokanee Salmon. The Truckee River, Donner Lake, and Prosser Lake all offer great fishing and are less than a 10 minute drive away. After a typical day of fishing, avid fishermen gather to swap fish tales, compare their catches, and make plans for an evening cookout. We have a fish cleaning station behind the laundry room for your convenience! Lake Tahoe offers a variety of exciting activities for the whole family. Hike the Tahoe Rim Trail, Mountain Bike the famous Flume Ride Trail, or just relax at one of the many fine sandy beaches. Afterwards head on over to one of North Shores popular Casinos for some gaming action, good food, and live entertainment. Lake Tahoe is a picturesque 20 minute drive while Old Town Truckee, with its many historic buildings dating back to the Gold Rush era, is just one half mile away and within' easy walking distance. Area roads are well maintained and remain open year round with easy access to supermarkets and a wide variety of other stores within two miles of our RV Park. This old railroad town dating back to the mid 1800's has been preserved to retain its old west character, with many of its buildings now over 100 years old, and home to unique shops and fine restaurants. Trains still come through town following the same route of the Transcontinental Railroad built nearly 150 years ago. Downtown Reno , the "Biggest Little City in the World" is just 30 minutes to the East. Enjoy Reno's fabulous casinos, big name shows, and great events such as Reno Air Races, Hot Air Balloon Races, Reno Rodeo, Rib Cook-Off, Blues and Brews Festival, etc.

Enjoy the clean, fresh, mountain air away from urban crowds and smog. Located on 30 acres, there is plenty of open space and an abundance of natural beauty within' the park premises. Wildlife is attracted to the seasonal stream which runs through the park and deer often frequent the ball field. Kids (and adults too) can really let loose on the two-acre ball field. Families, friends, and groups (large or small) get together for a good old fashioned water balloon toss, a game of croquet, frisbee golf, volleyball, soccer, and any number of other activities suited to our lush grassy play area. Visit our Lending Library located in the "66 room" of our Clubhouse to check out books, games (both indoor and outdoor), and movies you can enjoy during your stay. Throughout the summer guests enjoy a variety of activities. Families and friends gather for barbecues, birthday parties, reunions, and other events (even weddings!) where they can take advantage of our park's clubhouse, picnic facilities, ball field, playground, and beautiful summer weather. It makes for a most memorable occasion! When the snow falls families get out their sleds, toboggans, and cross country skis as there are plenty of places to enjoy the fresh snow in nearby resorts, snow parks, and in our park for FREE! Winter brings fresh powder snow the Sierra's are famous for, and with it great skiing, boarding, and sledding at the many nearby resorts.
